Optimum freedom of movement is also ensured by the extremely durable ripstop upper material that has been made highly resilient by the longitudinal and transverse webbing of the reinforcement fibres. Hard-hiking feet gain the stability they need from the elevated crossover STABILITY FRAME that encases the LOWA MONOWRAP® almost like an exoskeleton. This creates a supportive “corset” that is slightly less pronounced in the women’s model. The result is a multifunctional, waterproof and lightweight MID-CUT hybrid shoe that is ready for use straight out of the box with the help of the practical speed-lacing system and integrated lace pocket. • ANATOMICAL FIT – The midsole of the MERGER GTX MID Ws has been specially adapted to the natural features of the foot as a way of increasing comfort and fighting fatigue. These qualities are created by using integrated cushioning in the insole and its anatomically optimised form.
• Minimal Seams - Stitches and material overlaps are eliminated in the MERGER GTX MID Ws thanks to the use of large pieces in forming the upper. This reduces the possibility of pressure points, a feature that enhances comfort.
• Single Injection - The MERGER GTX MID Ws is footwear onto which the outsole has been directly injected. This manufacturing technique creates an exceptionally precise and very strong bond between the sole and upper.
• Stability Frame – With the LOWA MONOWRAP® frame, the midsole of the MERGER GTX MID Ws provides the very best comfort. This three-dimensional midsole design was developed by LOWA in 1995. The frame comfortably cradles the foot and support it when the shoe wearer ventures across uneven surfaces. The sole design is slightly raised for shoes with a STABILITY FRAME.
• Dyna PU - The midsole is the leading contributor to the footwear’s rolling properties and cushioning. In the MERGER GTX MID Ws, this midsole is made of a specially developed plastic: LOWA DynaPU®. The special feature: It retains its restoring force even when it’s pressed together thousands of times. As a result, the finished boots will maintain their exceptional cushioning properties even after you have walked many kilometres in them.
• Woman last – To ensure perfect fit, the lasts used for MERGER GTX MID Ws have been specially designed with the anatomy of women’s feet in mind. The last plays a key role in the ultimate fit of a boot. Women’s feet have less volume than men’s feet. As a result, the instep height and the ball area of these lasts have been altered.
• The rubber sole LOWA® GT Ws is characterised by its angular profile design. This feature provides a large contact surface and solid grip on easy terrain or during urban outings.
