The toe area of the shoe is designed in such a way that the distance to the rock is kept to a bare minimum.
• ANATOMICAL FIT – The midsole of the ALPINE EXPERT II GTX Ws has been specially adapted to the natural features of the foot as a way of increasing comfort and fighting fatigue. These qualities are created by using integrated cushioning in the insole and its anatomically optimised form.
• Slingshot - To provide good fit for the heel and to maintain a strong connection between the front and rear foot, a special form of heel rubber is attached to the footwear ALPINE EXPERT II GTX Ws while under tension. This SLINGSHOT generates a powerful restoring force, creating good heel fit in the shoe.
• As a result, the tongue is located where it should be – without any slippage or pressure points: This is what X-LACING® technology of the ALPINE EXPERT II GTX Ws is all about. This special lacing system secures the tongue both vertically and horizontally. Because the lacing system gains independence from the height of the instep, the design is perfect for any type of foot. • LOWA FlexFit: To add flexibility to each eyelet of the ALPINE EXPERT II GTX Ws, the lacing systems through which laces are threaded are affixed separately. These sections are made of soft leather trim or supple textile materials that prevent pressure points. Thanks to the flexible arrangement of the eyelets, the laces can be individually adjusted without producing any excessive pressure on specific areas. But the tongue maintains its optimum positioning.
• Woman last – To ensure perfect fit, the lasts used for ALPINE EXPERT II GTX Ws have been specially designed with the anatomy of women’s feet in mind. The last plays a key role in the ultimate fit of a boot. Women’s feet have less volume than men’s feet. As a result, the instep height and the ball area of these lasts have been altered.
• PrimaLoft® (400 g/m²) - The ALPINE EXPERT II GTX Ws has no fear of extremely cold winter conditions thanks to its high-quality synthetic fibre insulation with a 400 g/m² lining. The performance sole VIBRAM® ALP TRAC® ICE has been optimised for use in high alpine terrain. Users enjoy solid grip that is created by the combination of the high tread depth of the studs and a proven rubber compound, including the “climbing zone” on the sole’s tip.
